Our livestock slurry storage calculator is a simple tool to use;
- Input Livestock
- Choose from the 14 different cattle classifications (Dairy cows, beef sucklers, calves, etc.)
- Enter animal counts in the “No Of Head” column for each relevant category
- Input Total Amount Collected as Slurry
- As default the “total amount collected as slurry” is set to 100% i.e, this amuses that all livestock excreta is collected within slurry tanks etc.
- This figure can be adjusted as necessary if only a certain amount is collected aas slurry i.e, cattle have a straw bedding area.
- Input Housing Periods
- Specify weeks of indoor housing (0-52) for each group.
- Our system auto-populates standard excreta volumes from DEFRA-approved data.
- Please be aware that depending on area some farms must have a minimum of 26 weeks slurry storage.

- Weekly slurry production (m³): Headcount × Volume × Slurry %
- Total period slurry: Weekly production × Housing weeks
