Slurry Nutrient Calculator

Welcome to our Slurry Nutrient Calculator. This tool is designed to make your life easier when it comes to figuring out how much slurry or digestate to spread on your fields. Whether you’re dealing with slurry from livestock or digestate, this simple nutrient calculator helps you quickly determine the right amount of nutrients to apply.

Slurry Nutrient Calculator

Simply input the nutrient specifics of your slurry or digestate along with details about your fields, and let the calculator handle the math. It’s quick, it’s accurate, and it’s built to make standard nutrient management a whole lot easier.

How to Use Our Slurry Nutrient Calculator:

Our slurry nutrient calculator is a simple but effective tool to calculate the nutrients supplied during slurry applications. Follow our how-to guide below;

Slurry Nutrient Analysis

Step 1: Enter Slurry/Digestate Analysis –

Select a Slurry Analysis:

Use the drop-down menu to select a typical slurry or digestate analysis from the provided options. These options are preloaded with values for nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), and sulfur (S) based on the selected type.

If you know the specific values, proceed to manually enter the nutrient content in Kg per cubic meter (m3).

Manual Entry:

Enter the values for N, P, K, Mg, and S per cubic meter of slurry/digestate in the provided input fields.

Slurry Application Field Size

Step 2: Field Details –

Select Field Size Measurement Unit:

Choose between acres or hectares for the field size measurement from the drop-down menu.

Enter Field Size:

Input the size of the field for which you are planning the slurry application.

Set Slurry Application Rate

Step 3: Application Rate –

Enter Application Rate:

Specify how much slurry (in gallons, liters, or cubic meters) you plan to apply per acre or per hectare.

Set Measurement and Area Units:

Choose the appropriate units for the volume of slurry (gallons, m3, or liters) and the area (acre or hectare).

Total Slurry Nutrients Applied

Step 4: Total Field Nutrients Applied –

The calculator automatically computes the total amount of each nutrient applied to the entire field based on the entered data.

Review the values in the read-only fields to ensure they meet your nutrient application needs.

Total field Nutrients Applied

Step 5: Nutrients Applied Per Acre/Hectare –

Check the nutrient application rates per acre or per hectare, which are automatically calculated and displayed.

Total nutrients applied per acre

Step 6: Reverse Engineer Nutrients Required –

Enter Required Nutrients:

If you have a target amount of nitrogen needed per acre, enter that amount in the corresponding field.

Calculate Required Slurry Volume:

The calculator will estimate the amount of slurry needed per acre to meet the specified nitrogen requirement.

Nitrogen Required

Tips for Effective Use:

Accuracy: Ensure all input data is accurate. Incorrect inputs can lead to improper nutrient application.

Validation: Regularly calibrate your application equipment and validate the calculator’s outputs with actual field measurements.

Local Regulations: Always consider local agricultural regulations regarding nutrient applications to avoid environmental impact.
